ICAR KVK Dimapur conducted an Awareness Programme on Khet Bachao Campaign

        ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dimapur, in collaboration with Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha (BJKM), Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland Unit, organized an awareness programme on the ongoing Khet Bachao Campaign at the KVK Dimapur Conference Hall on June 18, 2026. The programme commenced with a welcome address and brief introduction by Dr. Phool Kumari, Senior Scientist-cum-Head, KVK Dimapur, who highlighted the objectives of the Khet Bachao Campaign and emphasized the importance of sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
        The programme was graced by Shri Ketholezo Makritsu, President, Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha, Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland Unit, as the special invitee. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Makritsu appreciated the efforts of KVK Dimapur in creating awareness among farmers and promoting eco-friendly agricultural practices.


        Dr. Bendangla Imsong, SMS/Chief Technical Officer (Plant Breeding), KVK Dimapur, delivered a technical session on the balanced and judicious use of fertilizers for maintaining soil fertility and enhancing crop productivity. A practical demonstration on the preparation of Jeevamrut, Ghan Jeevamrut and Beejamrut was conducted by Ms. E. Lireni Kikon, SMS/Assistant Chief Technical Officer, KVK Dimapur, encouraging farmers to adopt low-cost organic inputs for sustainable farming.
        The programme witnessed the participation of farmers from Green Hills Farmer Producer Company (FPC) representing nearly nine villages under Chümoukedima district. Among the distinguished participants were Mr. Masa Pongen, Service Provider, Green Hills FPC, and Mr. Kreviso, CEO, Green Hills FPC, Chümoukedima. As part of the programme, agricultural inputs including row markers, rabbit feed and Assam lemon saplings were distributed to the participating farmers. The farmers actively interacted with the resource persons and expressed keen interest in adopting the technologies demonstrated during the programme. The programme was chaired and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Marneni Divya Sree, SMS (Agricultural Extension), KVK Dimapur.
